A photo of your ID and a quick selfie. Most checks finish in a few minutes, and you never do it again.

One check covers every job you accept here.

How it works

Two sides, one rule: nobody accepts a job without a verified ID.

If you want work

  1. Make a profileYour name, where you can work, and the kinds of jobs you want.
  2. Verify your ID oncePhoto ID plus a selfie. You only do it the first time.
  3. Accept and show upThe rate, hours and address are set before you tap Accept.

If you're hiring

  1. Open a business accountAdd your location and the kinds of roles you fill.
  2. Post the roleRate, hours and address go on the post, the same way workers see it.
  3. Book who acceptsEveryone who can accept has already passed the ID check.

Hire on Monday, pay on Friday, from one account.

Built for shops, kitchens, warehouses and event crews that staff up week to week.

  1. Mon

    Post the job

Full-time, part-time or a single shift. The rate and hours go on the post, so nobody applies blind.

  2. Tue

    Book verified people

Only people who passed the ID check can accept, so whoever shows up is who you booked.

  3. Wed–Thu

    Run the schedule

See who is on which shift and swap someone in when plans change.

  4. Fri

    Pay for hours worked

Hours flow straight into payroll. Nobody re-types a timesheet.

Ground rules, for both sides

  • No verified ID, no Accept.

The button stays locked until your check is done. Businesses only ever book people who passed it.

  • Pay is on the post.

Hourly rate, hours and address are listed before you accept. No "competitive pay", no rate revealed after the interview.

  • Your ID stays private.

Employers see a verified badge next to your name. Your ID photo and number are never shown to them.

  • Hours worked are hours paid.

Posting, the weekly schedule and payroll share one account, so nobody re-types a timesheet and nothing gets lost.

Something else on your mind? Ask us when you sign up.

Why do I have to verify my ID before accepting a job?

Businesses are letting you into their shop, kitchen or warehouse, often the same day. Checking ID up front means they can book quickly without a separate background interview, and it keeps fake accounts from grabbing shifts that real people want.

What do I need for the ID check?

A valid government-issued photo ID, like a driver's license, state ID or passport, and your phone camera for a selfie. You do it once.

How does pay work?

Every post shows the hourly rate and the hours before you accept. The business pays for the hours you work through BetterMake, and you can see each shift's pay in your account.

What does it cost?

Nothing for workers. You never pay to find, accept or get paid for a job. Businesses pay a fee for each hire they make through BetterMake.

What if my ID check doesn't go through?

Most failed checks come down to the photo: blurry, cropped or shot in glare. Retake it in good light with all four corners showing. Until a check passes you can still look at jobs; only Accept stays locked.

Is it safe to work a shift with someone new?

Everyone who can accept a job has passed an ID check, and every post shows the business, the address and the hours before you accept. You only take the jobs you choose.

Can a business post a single shift?

Yes. Post one shift with its date, hours and rate, or a regular part-time or full-time role. Either way, only ID-verified people can accept it.

Can I find full-time work here, or just gigs?

Both. Filter by Full-time, Part-time or Gig. Some businesses hire people from a one-day gig into a regular role.

Looking for work?

Free for workers. Verify your ID once, then accept any job you like.

BEFORE YOU ACCEPT

Verify your ID to accept

Every business on BetterMake knows the person showing up is who they say they are. You do this once, then Accept unlocks on every job.

  1. 1Take a photo of the front and back of a government-issued photo ID.
  2. 2Take a quick selfie so we can match it to the ID photo.
  3. 3Most checks finish in a few minutes. Businesses see a verified badge, never your ID.
